Job Details

The SNF Administrator oversees & manages Facility staff, taking on tasks such as hiring, training, evaluation, andscheduling. The SNF Administrator also oversees the organization’s finances and budget and helps to manage billing and reimbursement. The SNF Administrator also ensures the Facility remains in compliance with local, state and federal regulations. The HealthCARE of Iowa team will work in a consulting capacity with your Facility. The SNF Administrator will consult with the Regional Director of Operations to discuss leadership decisions and recommendations.

GENERAL JOB DUTIES

  • All employees are responsible for a basic knowledge of the employee handbook, along with the mission and vision of the Facility, and must conduct themselves with behavior that supports these values.
  • All employees understand the safety and well-being of both the residents and staff members is the number one priority of their Facility.
  • All employees are responsible for making the most of their working time and reach maximum potential by being on time for appointments, checking voicemails/emails as appropriate and completing deadlines in a timely manner.
  • All employees are expected to escalate issues as necessary.
  • All employees will specifically be trained on their job duties, however; other mandatory trainings may be deemed appropriate by leadership for one or all members of the team.
  • Other projects and/or duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Operate the facility in accordance with the established policies and procedures of the governing body in compliance with Federal, State, and Local regulations.
  • Prepare written policies regarding duties and activities of facility staff & enforcing the facility policies and procedures.
  • Define standard operating procedures for physician practices.
  • Act as liaison to the governing body for the medical, nursing, and other professional staff and all facility departments.
  • Act as the Compliance Officer for the facility, ensuring that all policies are followed by employees.
  • Prepare all reports required by leadership.
  • Supervise all department supervisors and administrative staff.
  • Supervise the recruitment, employment, performance, evaluation, promotion, and discharge of all staff.
  • Assume responsibility with department supervisors of ensuring adequate staffing.
  • Assume responsibility for all financial transactions.
  • Supervise the confidentiality and safe storage of current and closed resident records, personnel records, and physical plant records with regulatory requirements.
  • Cooperate with the bookkeeping and purchasing departments to assume responsibility for ensuring the proper disbursement of money, as needed, and the proper recording of such transactions
  • ETC.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Licensure/Certification in the State of Iowa required.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree is required. A degree in Healthcare Administration is preferred.
  • Healthcare management and experience in long-term care is preferred.
  • Maintain active Dependent Adult Abuse training certification, and/or have the ability to complete the required training within 6 months of hire.
  • Must participate in on-going continuing education.
